The Groves / Gillygate. Quiet residential streets just north of the walls near the Minster, dotted with B&Bs. Peaceful and central. Great for exploring on foot. Good for: Budget B&Bs.
Riverside / Skeldergate. Along the Ouse near the centre, with modern hotels and river views. Convenient for cruises and walks. A pleasant, easy base. Good for: Comfort, views.
